Birthday Countdown!

Thats right! It is almost my 23rd birthday. My family has a tradition called the birthday countdown. Five days before your birthday you get 5 little presents! And then 4 and then 3 and next 2 and then 1 and then its your birthday! So this thursday it will be my birthday!

Day number 5 I got: A pair of wooly gloves at the farmers market. They are made out of recycled sweaters. so cute! Along with two headbands and two donuts and lunch. Pretty good gifts!

Here is a picture of the gloves and the headbands:

I ate the donuts before they could make it into the picture! They were yummy....maybe they will make it next time.

Lets see day #4: Some more of my favorite treats....can you guess??! ok.......give it your best shot! If you guessed this..................

Then you would be right!

But this would only be one item so guess some more.....................it has to go well with the crackers!

Thats right.....laughing cow cheese! One of my favorites! Count three of these and you get 4.
Day #3: I got more of my favorite treats! Things I am addicted to. Sour patch kids! I could eat the whole bag in one sitting and then walmart brand peanut butter cups. They are sitting in the freezer as we speak and I cant wait to break them open. And the third item is cinnamon bears. I just got done covering them in chocolate. I warn you now but they are highly addictive!

Here is the whole process:
Put them all in a bowl. So cute huh? But they need some clothes....

Better put the cute bears on here or they wont make it!

Melt some chocolate chips and it makes a cute outfit for the little buddies.

My army of bears! Guess what? They are fully clothed and ready to eat!

So the countdown will continue until thursday. I will continue to post as the fun things happen....just so you know I have already eaten like half the bears! I told you they were addicting. If you dont believe me give them a try!

Happy Birthday day to me on thursday! Here is my anthem for the week!

No one says it better than Frank Sinatra!

Pelotonia 2012

So.....this is coming kinda late! My days lately have been filled with work and lets see math! I hate Math! But lets see this post is not about math at all! Its about a weekend back in August that really changed my life!

So let me take you back in time......back to the first weekend in August! This is the weekend that my family and I travelled to the great land or should I say state of Ohio for a bike ride called the Pelotonia! I was able to volunteer as a first aid person at a rest stop along the ride! But lets start with the first night we were there! They were holding the opening ceremonies and they had a big celebration of sorts! They had a band playing and different tents where things were being sold! The dinner they served us was pretty awesome also! It rained and we all got soaked which added to all the fun! But the best thing that happened was a 21 year old cancer survivor, named Woody Roseland shared his story!

Here is a video he made for the event! Pretty awesome right?!
I secretly love him..................well i guess its not a secret anymore! Oh well!

So let me tell you what my family did for this event. My dad and brother marcus rode 180 miles and raised over 4 thousand dollars! All of the proceeds go to cancer research and fund students and doctors to continue the fight to end cancer!

Here is my dad and my brother! They did amazing.

Here is a my group that I worked with:
Im the small one. We mostly spent our time providing ibuprofen and it was awesome to hear the stories of why and who people were riding for that day. My mother and sister in law took some amazing pictures of the riders and the event. It was touching to see how cancer has affected so many lives. Riders would come to the stop with numerous names written on their arms and legs, pictures of their children pinned to their jerseys and some were even riding as cancer patients themselves. The riders and the volunteers and the community were all focused on one goal.........

Here is my mom and my dad:
She is a breast cancer survivor! Way to go mom.

There was one man who came across to our stop crying and we asked him if he was okay and he just said that he saw a man sitting on the side of the road with his wife and children. He was holding a sign that said  Thanks for saving my wife! We were all crying as he finished up the story. This is only one of the many touching things I heard and saw as the weekend went on.

So if you think there is nothing you can do.......watch this!
My Favorite is I have cyclophobia. Gave me a good laugh.
Changes your mind doesn't it! So if you want to donate and help end cancer. you can do that here.
www.pelotonia.org. Search for Jeff Bruce or rider number JB0100! Thanks!

As you can tell I had a great weekend in Ohio.
Cancer sucks. Lets all work together and kick its butt. One goal cannot be achieved without.............................Us!

Is Victoria's Secret perfume really boy repellent?!

Hmm....some of you may be wondering what this post is really about! Well...let me tell you I am beginning to wonder if my perfume is really boy repellent!

Example number 1:
I go to the local health club. yep I am all cute and sweaty and not to brag but I run a 7 minute mile...oh wait back to my story! Picture it! Cute girl running on the treadmill minding my own business! I see a cute guy to my left and he gets off of his treadmill and comes to the empty one right next to mine! So I am thinking Sweet! I smile and say hi! And he says Hello! Im thinking to myself hey cute kid. At this point he stops the treadmill and got off and left! What?!!!

Now I don't look like this:
I definitely don't look like this:
Sorry whoever you are ugly girl!

This is me:
And yes! I am wearing my boy repellent!

What's up with you single boys in Logan anyway!

I have multiple stories....the kid at the institute dance who introduced me to all of his roommates, danced a couple of dances and awkwardly left without asking me for my number.

or....how about the kid who took me out for ice cream. He was super courteous and super nice. About a month later....we crossed paths at the institute building. Made eye contact and gave him a good smile and he turned and went the other way! Say what?! Saying hello is not marriage!

Moral of these stories.....its okay to ask me for my number! I am nice really! Dont go out of your way and then chicken out!

Come on all you single boys! Take some girls out of some dates! It wont hurt you!
