Well June is well underway and we all know what that means summertime is here once again! This summer I am currently in school but I am still going to enjoy it! This month so far has been filled with studying Anatomy and Physiology(which I finished in record time with an awesome grade....go me!) and riding around in the convertible named Lemon.
So this month my parents moved to West Virginia. My dad was able to receive an awesome job offer there and so they will be living there for the next two to three years. We all will be traveling back and forth so I am very excited to go back east and see all of the history there! So they left me here at the house to take care of all the animals(chickens and the dog) and my grandma who live in our basement. So for the past two weeks I have been all alone....it can be quite lonely but school has kept me busy. My friend Alllie will be moving here at the end of this month and I seriously cannot wait for the all the adventures we will be having! It will be an awesome summer! My mom will be coming back for a little while when Allie arrives to make sure she knows the ropes around the house:). And then we will all be heading back with them for the Fourth of July! I am beyond excited!
Well my month has been wonderful and full of house cleaning and homework and riding around in Lemon like I said before!
Here she is:
My friend Whitney and I enjoying the warm weather! We just happened to have matching sunglasses!
Well thats about all the adventures I have had so far for the month of june. Besides lots of ice cream and things to stay cool! The weather is up into the 90's already....gross but good. I would be happy if it cooled down just a few degrees!
My parents are some of the funniest people you will ever meet. Something many of you will come to understand by just spending a few minutes with them!
This adventure took place in the wonderful store called Lee's. They were having a customer appreciation day, with many different festivities. They were having trivia questions about every 10 minutes and you had text in the answer. My mom with her fast texting skills texted in the answer to the question "what is the market called in seattle where they toss the fish?" The answer was Seattle Pike Place! So of course as we were leaving they called us and because we answered fast enough we got put in a contest to catch Sammy the salmon....of course we forced my dad to catch the fish!
Sammy the Salmon and my dad!
My dad, Sammy the salmon, Monica
They tied so they split Sammy in half for us all to enjoy! Looks like we will be having salmon for dinner!
Here is the whole adventure! Enjoy! I know we did!
This time last year...I was coming home from my mission! Has it seriously been a whole year! It has flown right on by!
I have been so busy with school, that I haven't had enough time to blog. School is going awesome! I just started into Anatomy and Physiology! So my days and most nights are filled with studying how the body works. Pretty amazing stuff! I'm learning a lot and doing very well on the tests!
School and studying have pretty much taken over my life. Sometimes I get to hang out with Cavin! He is getting so big and learning how to walk and other things!
Here he is!
We even went on a walk with papa
This month I'm also missing kaden!
I taught him to crinkle his nose!
This past weekend, my parents went out of town and I was all alone! Of course when they leave crazy things happen. This time it was a crazy windstorm! It destroyed our backyard and even broke our fence!
I was able to fix it with the help of my neighbor rod low! I survived!
The Stanley cup for hockey has started! So I've been watching some fun games! I'm rooting for a few teams! I love hockey!
Well finally the waiting is over and the next chapter of my life is starting! I will be attending the Medical Assisting program at Bridgerland Area Technical College starting on the 8th! I'm so excited to finally be starting after being on the waiting list for 5 long months! So all of my money I have earned lately has gone to the tuition and books and new this year the scrub uniforms. So once again I find myself broke but all for a great cause of course!
Here is a look at the cool scrubs I will be living in for the next while!
I think I will be looking pretty spiffy!
Of course while attending school we are weighed down by a ton of textbooks! I'm still in the process of finding my backpack to carry them all! Maybe a suit case will be big enough! But here is mostly where all my hard earned cash went too! The cost of books is ridiculous!
Here is my load!
And this is only for the first half of the program!
The program should take me about 10 months or so. The class times are monday through friday 8am to 3 30 pm. I will be putting in the long hours so I can finish up quick! It will be a fun chapter of my life and I know I will learn so much! I am going to rock this program! They won't even know what hit them! Wish me luck guys!
Okay I know...I said that I would try the post a day challenge,But as you can see I have failed already and I only posted on day 1. So I figured I would just post like I always do...every few weeks or when something big happens!
This past weekend I went to Disney on Ice! I went with a friend of mine named Nicole Tillman. We served in the same mission but we never had the privilege of being companions! So Friday morning I headed down to Salt Lake and we headed into the magic of Disney on Ice. The skaters were really talented and what better way to spend the afternoon than with the all the disney characters and princesses!
Here is a taste of some of the magic!
Dare to Dream was the theme!
That is a good overview of the show!
Tangled was the best part!
Of course we had to buy a few things and cotton candy of course! The cotton candy came with an awesome crown!
We are so cool!
Me and the awesome crown!
We had awesome seats!
Nicole and the 12 dollar cotton candy!
I guess they can get away with that price because they included a crown!
After the show, we headed over to the Bettie Page store and I really really wanted to purchase a few of their new dress styles for spring but luckily I was able to walk away. They have awesome things in their store, you all should check out their website! www.bettiepageclothing.com, there you all go!
After shopping we headed out to the IMAX theater and saw Oz the Great and Powerful! I give the movie 5 stars. It was very entertaining and funny also. I highly recommend it!
Here is the trailor!
That was my weekend in a nut shell! It was so much fun and I loved getting to know Nicole better! Thanks for the fun weekend! I hope everyone gets a chance to see Disney on Ice at some point! You know you all want to!
So I have decided to try something new and go out on a limb here....like how I said I would take pictures everyday of the month and be on here well its like that again but a little bit different of course. So what happens is they give me a prompt of what to post on here for everyday of March. I figured I would give it a shot. So here it is:
So day 1 is a self-portrait and 5 random facts about myself!
Or I guess the silly side should come through:
I mustache you a question! But I'll shave it for later!
If you know me well enough, this is completely normal for me! I'm silly most of the time.
Now for the 5 random facts! Here it comes!
1) I was on a cheer/dance team in high school! And yes I did eat two hot dogs and a soda everyday after practice at our favorite gas station called Kwik Trip....If you are from Wisconsin you will understand.
2) I have a crush on a boy.....I won't say who!
3) I have Beiber fever! Though I hate to admit it!
4) I have one brother in Iraq fighting in the army and another brother in Cabo Verde.
5) The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie growing up!
So there you have it! Post number 1! Now I don't promise that I will post everyday but I will try!
This past weekend I was able to go to California with my Mom and Dad! I was so glad to get out of the cold weather and into the nice and sunny weather of Orange County. The air was nice and clear compared to the horrible inversion we have had here in Logan. I felt like I could breathe in deep and so that Friday we got up and got ready and headed to the Salt Lake airport. We boarded our flight and after an hour and a half we landed in the land of Orange county. Walking off the plane and into the 70 degree weather was amazing! We got our rental car and headed to the Hilton that was like right across from the airport and checked in and lost our bags! And guess where we headed to first? If you know the Bruce family well you would have guessed it by now.....
and if you guessed the beach you are correct!
It's coming for me!
We headed straight to Newport beach. Of course we grabbed lunch to eat in the sand. And if you know me very well you would know that I hate birds! I think they are like the ugliest things on the planet. If you stick around me long enough you would know that every animal is attracted to me for some odd reason so I was in for an afternoon of all the pigeons and seagulls attacking me and hovering around me. But it still did not deter from the fact that I was at the beach!
After spending time at the beach we met up with a family friend/family. My uncle Paul and my Dad were great friends growing up and so I heard lots of great stories. We went out to dinner with him and ate at an awesome mexican food place. After eating we headed back to the hotel and called it a night!
The next day was the most exciting day of my whole weekend. My old mission companion Allie Mckenzie is from Buena Park and she has a season pass to Disneyland so we decided that we would go together! I was able to get in free to both Disneyland and California Adventures. Thanks to my Uncle Paul! I haven't been to Disneyland since I was two years old so it was awesome to be able to go and experience the magic. Of course I had to invest in some mickey ears and other souvenirs. If you have ever been to a theme park you know that they hike up the prices for everything and you still buy things! But its all part of the experience. So Allie and I grabbed a 10 dollar hamburger and ate and then we headed out on our all day experience. We hit up California Adventures for a majority of the day. We went on California Screaming which was by far my favorite ride....okay it may be a tie with the tower of terror. I loved the free falling feeling as the elevator drops you....or the fact you are not sure if you are going up or down. So fun! We also went on the soaring california where it takes you on a hang glider looking thing and you get a basic tour of California. Im scared of heights so that one was a little tough for me.....but it was fun! Well I took a few pictures and they show my excitement better than my words can!
Lego land!
Coolest thing ever!
Of course we went on the Little Mermaid ride!
Just cruisin' down main street.
I just paid 10 dollars! I couldn't more excited to eat a cheeseburger!
Cars land was so cool!
We totally kicked butt!
We also went on Mr Toad's Wild Ride because that was my mothers favorite ride when she was younger and would come to Disneyland often. It was a fun ride and we laughed the whole time because its also a weird ride. But to end my experience in disneyland we got fast pass tickets to watch the Disneyland world of colors. If you have never seen it, it is amazing. It is a water show and they project a bunch of movies on the water and a bunch of lights and things. I cant even explain what all happens so you all just need to see it.
Its a little bit long...but its the only good one I could find!
Here is Allie and I enjoying the show!
We are just the cutest!
Thanks Allie for the wonderful day! It was so much fun just laughing and having no care in the world! Its awesome how we can always pick up where we left off the last time we were together. You are great!
I was exhausted that night and totally fell asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel. The next day we of course headed back to the beach. And of course my Dad has this awesome idea that we should rent this huge 6 passenger bike thing.....
So of course in Bruce fashion we do.
We are total tourists!
We drove this bike all over the boardwalk and things and then we parked it and relaxed at the beach for a little while. This whole weekend I have missed my little brother Mitchell. He is currently on his mission in Cabo Verde so of course I had to send him a little love!
We then headed back to the hotel and ordered some pizza and watched the superbowl. And then we headed off to bed and My mom and I headed home the next day. I was dragging my feet the whole way home! I did not like having to come home to cold and nasty weather.....
Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome weekend! You guys are the best! I love you both!
